It’s that time of year again when the application deadline for the Disney Dreamers Academy is coming to a close! I cover so much content during this event that I tend to spread it out over the course of the year. So today, I want you to meet PR Maven and Disney Dreamer Alumni, Ashley Johnson.

If you currently have a high school student, PLEASE have them apply to attend the Disney Dreamers Academy. You can check out all of my posts below to see how amazing it is.

The deadline to apply is October 31st. Click here to apply today or go to: www.disneydreamersacademy.com.

Ashley Johnson of ANJPR Consulting

Every year at DDA, we get to meet outstanding alumni of the program. These former DDA students are out here killing the game in every area of their lives. From starting their own businesses to inventing products and launching successful crowdfunding campaigns, they are truly amazing.

Meeting Ashley was magical in and of itself. So being able to connect with her as a local to the DMV area was icing on the cake! PR is a hard job. And now more than ever, it is hard to find someone who really knows what they’re doing.

ANJPR is a public relations, branding and event production agency. They help brands tell their story in an alluring way while exploring and coordinating ways for them to be creative and unique while collaborating with others.

Ashley is also an author, and she talks about her challenges as she entered into the world of PR. You can check out her book here.

Being a Dreamer

Ashley had the opportunity to be a Disney Dreamer in 2011. And she attributes her confidence in going after her dreams to the DDA program.

Here are Ashley’s 3 tips for other dreamers to turn their no’s into yeses. She said you must:

  1. Stay Persistence
  2. Stay in Prayer
  3. Stay Positive

High school students from Washington, D.C., star in a special parade Thursday, March 8, at Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. to signal the beginning of the 11th annual Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE magazine. The event, taking place March 8-11, 2018 at Walt Disney World Resort, is a career-inspiration program for distinguished high school students from across the U.S.

What has been her biggest takeaway as a result of being a Disney Dreamer?

Ashley: To really go after your dreams with boldness and confidence. Coming out at 2011, my mind was transformed. I kind of knew what I wanted to do but I wasn’t really sure at the time. I was active at school and at church. I knew I was going to go to college. But coming from DDA, my mind was really transformed. I became more confident, I realized what I wanted to do. It really instilled that entrepreneurial spirit in me. I figured out then that I wanted to do PR. So the main takeaway from me was really seeking out your dreams with boldness and confidence.
