Real Moms, Real Talk: Jenna Hines, SAHM and Blog Owner of Call Her Happy

C: Like most moms, you definitely wear many hats, especially as it pertains to what you blog about. What is your favorite subject to blog about?

Jenna: Lately, my favorite thing to blog about has been more fashion related topics. And by fashion, I’ll do a lot of linkups or posts about what I wear to mass on Sundays. I like to combine different outfits. It’s something that I’ve been more conscious of lately, because it’s so easy as a SAHM to throw on sweatpants and a t-shirt every day. While there’s nothing wrong with that of course [as I’m in stretch pants and a t-shirt right now], at some point you start to feel better about yourself when you take a little more pride in what you wear and your overall appearance. It can also help you get out of a rut.

C: Are you blogging full-time now and do you write for other blogs?

Jenna: Yes, I write for my own blog and I post something about three to five times a week. I also blog for a real estate company called Lang Premier properties, in which I put up a post for them almost daily. These posts include ‘just listed’ properties, ‘just sold’ properties, real estate grants and laws, etc. A reader contacted me and expressed that she liked my style in writing. I told her I didn’t know anything about real estate and they were okay with teaching me what I didn’t know. It’s been great because I’ve been learning a lot through that. My husband and I are hoping to purchase a house now that we’re going to move somewhere permanent this year. I also blog once a month at CatholicMom.com, in addition to contributing to a lot of guest posts as well. So it definitely takes up a lot of time because I work on blogging every day. But my husband is really understanding of that especially now that I’m making income from it. He’s very hands-on with Ellen so I can get my writing done.
