Real Moms, Real Talk: Jenna Hines, SAHM and Blog Owner of Call Her Happy

C: What advice or resources do you have to share with other moms who might be looking to get started in blogging?

Jenna: The first thing I would suggest is to probably start reading blogs instead of just jumping right in if you’re nervous about it. Find some mom blogs that you really admire and e-mail them if you have any questions. If you’re just doing it for your family and more for a scrapbook, it’s fine to only post pictures of your kids and write about your life, and do the whole ‘me, me, me’ type of thing because that’s what you want it for [documentation purposes]. But if you’re going for something that you want to create a more global/universal audience, I think something important to do is to involve your audience. Try to involve your readers by giving them that moment where they think to themselves ‘Oh, I’ve been there too’. The other thing is that I like when I see a clean looking blog. Whether it’s free or you have money to spend, it’s nice to see a blog that is clean and easily accessible.

Thanks again to Jenna for taking time to chat with us and share her thoughts, experiences and advice. You can stay in touch with her over at Call Her Happy, on Twitter, and Facebook . You can also catch her writing over at Catholic Moms and Lang Premier Properties.
