Popping in real quick to say, YAAAAASSS Disney!! Y’all did that! Not only are you giving us the Lion King remake in a live action film, but if you haven’t caught a glimpse of the cast, take a look below.
I mean, can it even get any better?! I’m definitely not the only one excited about this as per all these tweets, and even though we have to wait until 2019, we’ll be waiting with big smiles and lots of anticipation.
It’s also quite obvious that the Beyhive is going crazy over Beyoncés confirmed role as Nala in the movie, but who can blame them? Beyoncé has shown us her acting chops in movies such as The Fighting Temptations, Cadillac Records, Obsessed, and of course, Dreamgirls for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
The mother of three just gave birth to her twins on June 13th of this year. Just imagine the new bragging rights her oldest, 5-year-old daughter Blue Ivy has on the playground with mom being Nala. (Although “my mom is Beyoncé” is probably enough bragging rights on its own, lol).
Other Disney Live Action Movies
This Live Action Lion King rendition joins Disney’s other Live Action remakes such as Beauty & the Beast and The Jungle Book, which we LOVED and previously shared about. Another Live Action rendition to look out for is that of Mulan, 20 years after it’s animated original version. (How is it 20 years already?! I feel old, lol). And also Aladdin which will be starring Will Smith.
Are you liking Disney’s Live Action remakes? I know I am. As much as these classics are flawless in their own right, making them come to life in a new light is just brilliant, and I for one am here for it.
