Valentine’s Day is around the corner and what better way to bond with your kids than to make your own Valentine crafts. I love when the kids come home with crafts they’ve made in school and they are so proud to show them off! I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite Valentine’s Day fun crafts that I found around the web which my children have done in the past. Hopefully, you give one a try too.
Candy Heart Frame
This one is super easy, fun and delicious to do!! The kids will love applying the hearts to the frame and will feel a sense of accomplishment for making a craft that can be used to hold a precious memory such as a picture.
- Sweetheart conversation candy
- Hot glue gun/glue stick (or if you don’t have a hot glue gun crafting glue works also)
- Wooden or cardboard picture frame (they can be found at Dollar Tree or any crafting store)
This activity is not only easy to make but you can also eat any leftover candy making cleaning afterward fast!!
Handprint Hearts
Now this one I love to make with younger kids!! My oldest is now 13 years old and I love to look back at some of her early childhood crafts she made using her little hands and feet!! These keepsakes are easy to make and will leave lasting memories.
- Construction paper (variety color pack)
- Washable paint
- A plastic cover for your work area
- A pair of scissors
- Glue
Beaded Name Heart Bracelet
Another one of my favorites is making cute heart bracelets. Kids find it enjoyable to make jewelry to wear and for other people to wear also. It’s another easy craft to make but I prefer making this product with older kids due to the small beads potentially being a choking hazard.
Materials needed:
- Pipe cleaners (variety color pack is always fun)
- Alphabet beads
- Pony beads
This one is a favorite because every bracelet will look different depending on the crafter personal style. My kids personally love to make these to give out to family members and friends.
So if you’re opting to skip the stores this year for some family bonding over crafting those were just a few of the crafts you can make. Not only are they inexpensive crafts but its fun and a great way to spend time with those you love.
Happy Valentines Day and Happy Crafting!!
What are some ways you like to involve the kids on Valentine’s Day?
My name is Jessica Hill and I'm just an ordinary mama trying to do extraordinary things!! I am the mother of three amazing kids that serves as my muse!! I love to write and am currently in the process of writing my first book. I recently started my first blog, jreneablog.wordpress.com, in which I share my world. I live and breath in God's love and I'm very excited to share the gift He gave me with you all. February 11, 2016 at 9:41 PMHi Jessica!!!! What a great read… I think my favorite is the handprint heart. I would love to do this with my 8 year old with one of my handprints and one of hers. My husband and I are going to try to go out the day before Valentine’s Day and spend the actual day with the family#familylove
