A Celebration of Love And Marriage

The month of September is always full of joy, happiness & sometimes chaos 🙂 in our household. It all started with our wedding day, seven years ago today. It feels like we blinked and when we opened our eyes, we were blessed with three kids and a whole lot more love. Two years after we were married, we welcomed our first born (and only) son on the twenty-fourth of the month. Two years after that, we welcomed our first daughter, on the fifteenth of the month, and nearly two years after she was born, we welcomed our third daughter (she was born in June).

My hubby and I met in 1994, when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore in high school. No, we were not high school sweet hearts by any means LOL. But we were really good friends throughout high school. Probably my junior year is when I realized I had a secret crush on him (ok, it might’ve even been sooner than that, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Lol). We kept in touch after he graduated, and I built up the courage to ask him to my senior prom. A year later, on April 11, 1999, he finally came to his senses 😉 and asked me to be his girlfriend.

Fast forward thirteen years later and he still makes me laugh just like he did in high school. He still gives me butterflies. He still makes my heart melt, and I still pinch myself when I think of how far we’ve come, and the life that we’ve created together. There will always be ups and downs, challenges and successes. But one thing I know for sure: I wouldn’t trade this lifetime partner for anything else! He is the reason I’m able to pursue my dreams and my passions. He is the best husband I could’ve ever asked for, and the amount of happiness he puts on our kids’ faces everyday is absolutely priceless!

So today, I reminisce on our wedding day seven years ago. And I give thanks to God for allowing us to find each other, and to continue to grow in our love and support for each other everyday. To all of our friends and family that helped us celebrate this day seven years ago, we thank you, appreciate you and we love you!

My hubby’s only request for our wedding day is that he get to choose our first dance song (which he knew of even long before we got married). I loved it when I first heard it, and love it even more today! So I leave you with “Rest of Our Lives” by Jeffrey Osbourne. 😉

So what’s your love story? What’s your favorite part about being married? 🙂

So beautiful! I love this. 🙂 Seeing as how I’m getting married in 2 WEEKS!! (Yes! 2 WEEKS!!!) LOL, I’ll definitely have more to share. But reading your testimony about your life with your mate is incredibly inspiring. I feel blessed to have read this. XO

2 WEEKS!!! Wow, I remember the days leading up to my own wedding like it were yesterday. Pretty soon you’ll be saying the same thing. The wedding prep is really exciting, but the real excitement and happiness comes once the marriage starts. Thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to hearing more about your journey. A BIG congrats to you and future hubby 😉 XO
