We are just days away from Thanksgiving and the holiday rush, a time where intentional gratitude increases (at least for most people). It’s a time to really focus on the things that matter (which is why I created the 30 Day Gratitude Challenge), and change and change our attitudes in taking even the littlest things for granted. I love this quote, “Gratitude and Attitude are not challenges, they are choices”. To me, this is a reminder that once again, we are always in choice. We can choose to be grateful or we can choose to be bitter. We can choose to focus on the positive, or we can choose to focus on the negative. We can choose to hate or to love. But the choice is always ours.
I tweeted out a question the other day, asking people what they look forward to the most during the holiday season. And one person tweeted back that they were most looking forward to the season being over. Being that I know this can be a hard time for people because of lost loved ones during this time or not being able to spend time with those they love, I initially empathized. But then I asked why they weren’t looking forward to the season, and the answer was a simple matter of not being in the mood for it. I don’t know what you believe, but I believe that Jesus is the reason for the season. So regardless of what is going on, I try to maintain an attitude of gratitude, and hope that as a mom, I’m teaching my children to do the same.
So which do you choose?
