Motivational Monday: Why Your Time To Act Is Now

Earlier today I was watching a vlog (a video blog) on YouTube and the mom featured mentioned how she went to Starbucks to do some work, and when connecting to their wifi the Starbucks poll question of the day was “Is it time to think or is it time to act?” as it pertains to Black History Month. (Let me digress for 2 seconds, if you haven’t tried turning Starbucks into your office for an hour or two, give it a try. That time away from the kids is so much more productive and enjoyable, and these guys agree. Ok, sidebar over, lol.)

The question got me thinking, especially in light of recent incidents, and it dawned on me that the fact that this is an either-or question is the problem. People are acting without thinking. I can remember hearing my mom as a kid, asking me what was I thinking?, or if I even thought, before doing something foolish. And of course, thinking alone won’t do much to propel any change, and how many of you can agree that change is needed?

So I want to motivate you today to not only think of how you want your future to look, your children’s future, and society’s future to look. But to also put the necessary action behind that. Martin Luther King Jr. sure had a dream, but he was also a man of action. You need to act now because the longer you wait, the harder it will be. We often think we can’t do anything to make a significant change, but it has to start somewhere, with one person, and that one person could be you.

Stay blessed!

What action do you think you can personally do to bring about change, even if only in your own home?

I need to set up a cleaning schedule. Sometimes I get overwhelmed when trying to balance working on my business and taking care of household chores.

I hear you Marcia! I need to do the same (again lol). It makes life so much easier when there is a schedule to follow.
