4 Super Easy Veteran’s Day Crafts For Kids

As my kids are getting older (4, 6 & 8), I look for new ways to teach them about holidays like Veteran’s Day. I don’t want them to get used to having these “days off” without understanding the meaning behind why they are celebrated. We started talking about what it means to be a Veteran and the fact that their father is a Veteran of the US Army. Happy Veteran’s Day and thank you to all of the Veterans out there for your service.

I always look to Pinterest for craft ideas for various homeschool projects. So here are 4 super easy Veteran’s Day crafts for kids that I will be trying out with my own children.

Soldier Craft

I love this easy craft from Fantastic Fun & Learning. This is super easy, and I know my kids will enjoy doing it. I also loved the fact that Shaunna read a story and discussed it about Hero Dad before doing the project with her kids.

These are great activities! At my daughter’s school, they also wrote letters to Veterans. It’s crucial to keep our troops’ morale up and let them know that their service is not in vain. Thank you for reminding of this and getting our kids (our future leaders) involved!

I love that first soldier craft and the Christmas cards for veterans! I also love that you teach the importance of all holidays. Not just commercial/gift receiving ones. That’s super important.

Sweet! I love all these ideas. I especially like the Christmas card idea since many military members are geographically separated from their families. Good stuff!

Love these activities! They look fun and engaging for children. I commend you for wanting your children to truly know the meaning behind the holiday. For so many, we only think about sharing the importance of holidays like Christmas, but don’t pay much attention to the other holidays during the year. Love it!

These are all good ideas. I’m a sucker for handprints. They’re always good to keep to track our kids growth.

My kids are 3 and 5. This was the first year I talked to them about the reason behind the day out of school. My son was eager to do something to celebrate the veterans. He thinks it’s really cool that they worked to keep us safe. 🙂
