Steve Harvey SOAR Retreat: Lifting Women Higher

Disclosure: I’ve received compensation and a free VIP ticket to this conference to give away. As always, all opinions are my own.

When I think about my life and where I am, and all of the different opportunities and experiences I’ve been able to create, I know that a lot of it is due in part to the strong women with whom I interact with. There are so many women that I’ve leaned on, whose shoulders I’ve cried on, and whose calls or texts have not gone unanswered.

When I set out to create this Moms ‘N Charge® platform, I did it because I knew that I would be lifting women higher. I knew that I would be able to encourage, empower and inspire moms like me to not give up on their goals and dreams. I wanted them to know that motherhood didn’t mean they had to lose their identity of who they are or wanted to become. I knew that I could show them, because I had been there. But I decided it was time to take charge of my life and my destiny. I decided that I would be the example my children would see: their mom following her goals and dreams in addition to being a great mom.

When my sister, Julian and I co-authored our first book together, Whose Shoes Are You Wearing, 12 Steps to Uncovering the Woman You Really Want to Be, we knew without a shadow of a doubt, that we would indeed be lifting women higher. We wanted women to know that your purpose is about finding the shoes that God uniquely created just for you.

One thing I talk about often, is the importance of creating and maintaining your own village. Yes you need to be your own cheerleader, but you also need people around you that can cheer for you as well. I don’t know what I would do without the women in my circle, but I am truly grateful for them every single day.

Lifting Women Higher - MomsNCharge

This is why I am so very excited to be able to share with you this upcoming event being led by Steve Harvey, called the SOAR Retreat: Lifting Women Higher. This retreat is specifically for the woman is finally ready to learn, build, act and connect…now. This event is not about whether or not you can afford to go, it’s about whether or not you can afford not to make the investment in yourself. How much do you believe in yourself? How much do you believe the greatness that God put you on this earth to achieve? I love this quote by the late Dr. Myles Munroe: “Preparation is proof of belief.” You have to prepare for the things that you cannot see. You have to live for the future and not the present.

Christine St.Vil and Steve HarveyWhen I had the opportunity to speak at Steve Harvey’s Act Like a Success Conference back in March, I knew that it was because it was something I had prepared for. I had put in the work long before the opportunity was even presented. Sometimes we miss out on opportunities because we’re waiting for them to arrive before we prepare for them. But I challenge you to shift your mindset, and prepare in advance for the opportunities in which you want to create so that when they arrive, you’ll be ready!

Are you ready to SOAR? Are you ready to treat yourself like the VIP that you treat everyone else as? I know, like I know, like I know…your associations will determine your destination. And there will undoubtedly be some powerful women to associate with at this retreat. Where are you looking to SOAR to?

Well, I want to see you soar, so I’m giving away one VIP registration ticket to one lucky woman for the Steve Harvey SOAR Retreat: Lifting Women Higher. I try to uplift women in my everyday life by not only treating them with respect, but addressing them as Queens. I may be young as a recent college graduate, but I know that I in a few years I want to write my own paychecks. I surround myself with entrepreneurial women who are guiding me onto the right path. I hope to win this and be able to solidly a plan for myself. I want to be successful so not only I can make a path for my future generations, but also so I can give opportunities to others who need it.

I try to uplift women in some way on a daily basis: whether I’m supporting women-owned businesses or doing my part to share posts and products. I’m blessed to be surrounded by loving and supportive women in my life (yourself included!), and I’ve made it my mission to show my gratitude by paying it forward as best as I can. If it’s in my budget, I’ll financially support by buying the product/service. If my budget is in recovery, I’ll spread the word along to others who might be able to do what I can’t. I’m a cheerleader for women trying to make their way, and I’m honest about what I don’t like or thinks works. I will always help in any way I can, because I believe that women are supposed to support each other, and not the other way around!

I support women everyday by being a support to my upstais and downstairs neighbors they are both women. I take the time to talk to them while they navigate the trials that have been thrown at them. They both are dealing with serious health issues.
I also support to my son’s on again off again girlfriend. They have two children ages 1 years old and 3 years old. I support her by being there for her whether she’s with my son or not. I also give her a break every weekend by taking my granddaughters for the weekend.
I want my granddaughters to see me supporting other women so that the cycle can be stopped. I have two other granddaughters ages 10 and 14.
When I was raising my six children I did not have much support from women. My husband was my only support. So I try to fill in the gap by giving what I didn’t get.
I do much more to support women but due to space, I’ll stop here.

I lift women higher daily by not only making myself available to my friends and family when they need a listening ear, compassionate voice, or warm shoulder but also by making sure to show love and kindness to every single woman I meet. If I see a beautiful woman, I make it my business to let her know it. Whether that beauty comes in the form of a smile, poise, style, actions, etc. I let her know. A lot of us walk around insecure and unsure of ourselves and that little bit of encouragement can be the difference between moving forward or feeling defeated. We NEED each other and so I try to make sure my walk, talk, and life supports that.

“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29

Hi Christine, I uplift many around me by staying positive and being a light. I speak to them since we as women sometimes try to size each other up, I feel like speaking goes a long way. I try to be encouraging. Some ways that I have been encouraging to women around me, starting with my co-workers is to be open to communicate keeping my passions and opinions at bay when they are expressing themselves and taking a moment to step into their shoes and give them the truth but in love. So many women beat themselves up thinking their not good enough or they don’t have skills or talents or contribute much beyond being a wife or a mother or the hat that they have to wear so I try to show them the beauty that is within them and help them to not be so hard on themselves. I speak life to whomever I can, I post some messages on my Instagram or Facebook and I support my friends in business. When people do something nice for me in return I do something nice for them or someone else. I would love to get around other positive people that are going in the same direction as me or are in the place that I’m trying to get to. Relationships are reciprocal it’s a give and take and I want to give what I have to offer and receive what’s for me in this season. I believe if you pour out you have to get a return. So I keep uplifting and encouraging and in some way shape or form I get it back.

I lift women higher in my everyday life by respecting myself and allowing into my life only those who treat me well. I do this because I think I am the first woman I have to lift higher, so I know how and have the energy to do this for others. I also do it so younger women can have an example of how to do this, especially when it is hard to.

I lift women higher in my paid jobs by defending their rights to dignified sexual and reproductive healthcare services and products like contraception, and by teaching young women to write well about their life experiences when they are applying to colleges, scholarships and jobs.

Every day, I say encouraging things to deserving women randomly, on the street or at events, when I see them owning their power or relinquishing it – thanking my wonderful mentors, complimenting the woman whose work outfit is killing it, encouraging my super smart friends who need to let go of retarding work environments. I support women-owned businesses when I need services, from my hairdresser to my dermatologist and coaches, to where I eat out and where I buy gifts. And I lift my closest circle of women higher every day, by reminding them of their genius and sharing useful information about opportunities with them based on what I know their current goals are.

When I wrote my “Single Mother Chronicles” I try to uplift the mothers rather than brow beat them to death with shoulda, woulda, coulda’s. If my words are not impeccable, I should not use them. This is a great article.

In today’s society, there are so many opportunities for us to tear each other down due to jealousy and a special desease, I’d like to call “comparison-itous”. I found that we all have a part to play. My giftings and talents can make room for another woman’s giftings and talents. When we decided to join forces with other woman and lend a helping hand instead of pulling away, we became a stronger unit by helping familes become financially fit. Helping to empower women to take back their right to have better control over their money and not allowing money, or the lack there of, to control them. I encourge, not tear down. some of the women that I help have gone through generations of other women and their families not having the right relationship with money and they did not know any better themselves. I don’t just show them the way I teach them the way. I reminded him that the generation behind them are regularly watching them. Our movement is called “Money On A Mission”. Changing the money mindset of familes, intimately changing their lives.

I uplift my fellow sisters everyday be it family members, church sisters, or friends. I love to send an encouraging Word via phone calls, text msg or cards. I’m always there to support their endeavors and I love to assist with moving them forward on their personal or career path. Another way I like to show my love to my sister’s is to bake them something sweet I know they will enjoy. I love to make a variety of desserts. It doesn’t matter if I’m trying a new recipe or making something specific that person, it brings me not to see them enjoy what was made.
