5 Daily Prayers For Your Children

I always feel like I’m not doing enough when it comes to strengthening my faith and prayer life. But thanks to my parents, I know how important it is to not only do so for myself, but to be the example for my children so that when they’re faced with certain situations, they can lean on their faith. I want to share these five daily prayers for your children because I know the power of prayer.

For those that don’t know, I’m one of seven children. A few years ago, my parents decided that they wanted to cover us in prayer so much so that they would dedicate a specific day for each of us to be prayed over by them. So every Saturday, I get a text from my mom reminding me that it’s my family’s extra day of prayer and to keep their special prayer requests in mind as well. I have no doubt that being a part of a praying family has indeed propelled many blessings in my life.

Sometimes we don’t realize the impact we have on our kids until they say something or do something that reminds us that they are indeed listening. I try to make sure I say prayers with my kids every night and let them express what they’re thankful for that day. Well, truth be told, sometimes I’m exhausted. Sometimes I just feel like praying over them instead of with them.

Well I had one of those nights recently. I gave them all hugs and kisses, told them I loved them and God bless them and was sending them off with goodnights. Then my youngest (at 4 years old) checked me with, “But mommy, we forgot to say our prayers”. And just like that, we were off to saying our prayers. Even my children hold me accountable (oh she straight called me out LOL)

And because God’s timing is always perfect, I happened to be on FB either that night or the next day and ran across my friend Dr. Harold’s post (author of Second Shift Book) on five daily prayers for your children. So I just knew I had to share here.
