Elle Fowler Shares Holiday Gift Ideas for Your Cats

The holiday season is all about giving to the ones you love, including your pets! Before we got married, my husband adopted two adorable little kittens (now big cats), and gave them a home where they otherwise wouldn’t have one. We’ve been guilty of not including them as much in holiday festivities, mostly because we weren’t quite sure how. So I was excited to get to ask Elle Fowler for some suggestions on gift giving for cats.

MNC: How are you doing today?

Elle: I’m good. Thanks for having me at MomsNCharge.com.

MNC: Awesome. So let’s get started. How can we incorporate cats into our decorations?

Elle: Pinecone and I have partnered with Fancy Feast to bring Feastivities, which is a holiday celebration for all things cat. And with this comes some really, really fun holiday gifts. We have some gifts that are for the cat and we have some that are for the cat owner. My favorite one for the cat, well Pinecone’s favorite one is the teepee.

Pinecone basically hangs out in his teepee all day long; it’s his favorite place now. Then for the cat owners, we have some cool handcrafted jewelry, we have a tote bag, we have a bowtie collar for your cat which again, Pinecone is definitely a fan of the bowtie collar. And then as far as decorations go, we have a cat illustration and also the Fancy Feast annual holiday ornament, which is an annual tradition; they’re a collectible. This year’s is particularly cool, I think because it was printed on an antique press, and I really have a thing for all things antique. So I think that is quite cool. MNC: So are there any other ways besides the ornament that we can give back to pets in need this season?

Elle: Yes. I think the ornament’s great because the donations go directly to adoptapet.com, which is North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption website, and they’re all about finding great owners for homeless pets. I think if you do your donation and then maybe if you also volunteer at a shelter, that’s something that I actually really enjoy doing; just giving back to pets with your own time.

MNC: That’s really great. So the holidays are all about the food. How can we make sure our cats get a special treat too?

Elle: Fancy Feast actually has a gravy lovers entrée, and they have a turkey and gravy one that Pinecone is going to be getting in his stocking this year, and also during Thanksgiving dinner. When I’m eating my turkey and gravy with my family, he’s also going to be eating his turkey and gravy because let’s just be honest. Our cats are as much a part of our family as our family members are.
