Motivational Monday: Don’t Give Up (The Best is Yet to Come)

I seriously cannot believe that Christmas is next week and that we will be ringing in the new year not long afterwards. I have to admit that this year has ROCKED for me for many reasons – from my first cruise with hubby, to beginning our second year of homeschooling, to my business taking me places I hadn’t even anticipated, to writing my first book – and I know I’m blessed.  But I’d be lying if I said I’ve never felt like giving up at one point or another. But I’ve learned that I’m way more committed to my goals and dreams, than to any fear or obstacle that threatens to stand in my way.

If you have a dream in your heart, don’t give up. If you’re feeling tired, stressed or anxious, take a break but don’t give up. If you don’t have a support system or accountability partner, create one, but don’t give up. If you have people constantly telling you what you can’t do, let your success be the noise, but don’t give up. Sometimes you may feel like you want to throw in the towel. Sometimes you may feel like you should quit, but don’t.give.up.

“Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who don’t give up.”

Have you ever felt like giving up? What keeps you motivated and pushing through to your goals?

I have moments of giving up all the time. When I go to that negative space, I push through. When the moment passes as it always does, I've still accomplished something and it motivates me to do more.

I love that! We all go through those periods from time to time but I agree that when I focus on my accomplishments, it definitely feuls me 🙂

I am in such denial about Christmas being next week! I have noticed that I am giving up at work, just doing enough and sliding by. To recharge I just made a list of small things to do and did them,. It helped a bit.

Hey Rachee!!! I know, right??? It happens every year though, just sneaking up on us LOL. I love and can’t live without making lists, and then breaking them down into smaller chunks. It makes things much more manageable 🙂

Christine you continue to inspire me. I can’t express how grateful I am to you. I am currently reading your book and let me tell you… I was kicking myself for not ordering it sooner but it is the perfect end of year read. I am savoring it by reading one chapter per night and working on the assignments. It is a blessing. I can’t thank you and your sister enough.
I can’t wait for the day that I finally meet you face to face.

This is such an inspiring post! There are many days when that horrible voice inside tries to get me to give up and sometimes I get negative and hard on myself but inspiring stories like this really makes me want to push through. Thanks for sharing your journey and I wish you continued success.

Aww I’m so happy it inspired you Adanna! We all need words of inspiration and encouragement, especially when it comes to following our dreams. So I try to keep things like this in front of me, as well as surround myself with people who will be there to motivate me when I can’t motivate myself.

Thanks for your motivation. It's hard to be a working mom and wife, and sometimes I want to give up, or at least hide for a few days. I need to do more self-care, especially around the holidays.

I completely understand Gwen! But I’ve learned in the process that everyone else benefits when I’m taking time out for myself. So don’t be afraid to do that because we need it and deserve it 🙂

I think these are words we all need to hear sometimes. It’s so easy to want to give up, but the work comes when we decide to stick it out!

Yep, there are some days I feel like giving up on certain things that I really want to do…..because they are not working out *my way*. Then I catch myself and remember that God has bigger plans for me than I can even dream of myself. This was a great encouragement Christine. Thank you.
